SBI’s complaint redressal service ‘SMS “Unhappy”’ received 24,000 complaints from the customers in one year since it was launched in Hyderabad Circle in December last year. About 97 per cent of them have been redressed, according to Shri Shiva Kumar, DMD, SBI. Speaking on the occasion of first anniversary of the service, Shri Shiva Kumar said it was a major contributor to SBI being rated No.1 in customer satisfaction in Hyderabad in a survey conducted recently. The ‘SMS “Unhappy”’ initiative was launched to improve service standard by attending to the complaints promptly. This is also a paper-less effort as the complaint is handled by sms, phone and internet only. He said 62 per cent of the complaints were resolved by the bank within 48 hours. ‘This has also won the e-India 2010 Award under ‘ICT-enabled PSU of the year category’, he said.

I sent an “UNHAPPY” SMS to 8008202020 regarding closure of SB A/c of my daughter (30056183202 at SBI, JIPMER, Pondicherry); within minutes I got phone call to my mobile and within 2 hours the concerned Bank Manager telephoned and within 24 hours the SB A/c was closed. This was pending for over 2 months. This service is amazing for both promptness and speed. I am sure others also might have a similar experience

Instead of raising the issue on the web, you should have contacted the senior officials or the Branch Head and they would have clarified you then and there itself. Senior officials are there to resolve such type of problems. However, if the issue is not resolved at there level then only you should raise your voice at other corners. Regards,

Account holder name: Md. Salim, Bank name: State Bank of India. I had
applied for a Approval of new Mobile No(+918961452748) before 3 months in our branch
for Net Banking. But there is no response from the bank. I met to bank
staff many times after absent from my office regarding this. But staff is a
bad person. He is a corrupt man and not performing his duty. He said that
he has done but my question is that, ‘why my mobile no was not approved or
registered till now’.

Please lodge your complaint with the Bank by sending a message “UNHAPPY” from your mobile to 8008202020 number which would reach the “Happy Room” of SBI’s respective Local Head Office. An executive of the Bank would then call you back on your mobile phone. He would listen to your grievances and record the complaint. After understanding the nature of the problem he would take up the matter with respective branch/office for resolution.
